Isaiah 46:9-10 - “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand and I will do all that I please.’” “God’s Sovereignty” defined is His complete and absolute rule, control, and power over all things. The truth of God’s Sovereignty is indeed wonderful news for us. How often do we feel caught off guard by the unexpected, ambushed by circumstances we never saw coming, surprised by someone’s actions that leave us confused? How often are we unprepared for things that cause us to feel overwhelmed and completely out of control? The practical power of God’s Sovereignty in our lives is that even though we may feel like things have gone off the rails, God never does because God is never out of control. He is never caught off guard by the situations in our lives. He has never once uttered the words, “Wow, I didn’t know that was going to happen.” He is never surprised. He sees it all, knows it all, and rules it all. And because He does, you and I can live unafraid of the future. The God Who holds us in His mighty hands is the same God Who rules the universe. We may not know the future, but we know the One Who does. And we can trust what He controls. So rest easy today. Your God is on the Throne. He knows the way that you take and He is in charge. You are secure. Live boldly for Him!
