Psalm 27:4 - “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Right now in Heaven the angels are overwhelmed with joy and worship of God because they have a crystal clear understanding of just how awesome and wonderful He is! So much of our struggle on this side of eternity has to do with our misconceptions and misunderstandings of Who God truly is. But imagine that just for a moment we could see what the angels are seeing now. THe King of the universe in all of His burning splendor and glory. Think of it! How our priorities would be impacted. How our perspectives would shift. How what we live and long for would be given new, breath-taking clarity. It’s no wonder that David cried out for what he did in today’s Scripture. One of the great things about the Bible is that this prayer of David’s can be ours as well. We too can seek God with passion and abandonment. In truth, it is the only way we will ever grow as christians. Our growth in discipleship never happens by accident. It happens on purpose. It happens as we intentionally choose to focus on and follow the One Who gave His life for us. The One Who invites us to be with Him, to know Him, and to know His love for us. So today, let’s be intentional like David. Let’s pray today’s Scripture for ourselves - to ask to know Him better and to see Him clearer. And never forget that one day, like the angels today, we will see Him in person. That day is coming. What a day that will be!
